Last month i have built computer gaming for my friend, and he have $300. For alternative one i want use amd phenom, because he don't have enough money then i try use amd athlon 64 x2 5200. Here they are a full specsifications for Amd athon x2 5200 and cheap specs for game :
CPU : "AMD ATHLON X2 5200"
Memory : Kingston 1Gb PC 6400
Motherboard amd M2= from Biostar
Vga Card : Nvidia Gforce FX9500 512Mb 125bit
And the result, this spec is not bad for entry level computer game and for you if you want build cheap specs for gaming with amd athlon cpu, you can try this specsifications.
Game test : PES 2008 ( Good ) , Assasin Creed ( Very Good ), GTA4 ( Not Bad )
For better gaming you can buy Nvidia Geforce 8800GT or 9800
